Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 12, 2026

1. Our Commitment

Ufondu Kitchen is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone deserves equal access to information about our food, services, and the ability to place orders online. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

2. Accessibility Measures

We take the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Semantic HTML: Proper use of heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and ARIA attributes for screen reader compatibility
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements — buttons, links, forms, and menus — are fully operable via keyboard
  • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet minimum WCAG 2.1 contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Alt Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text
  • Responsive Design: The site adapts to various screen sizes, zoom levels (up to 200%), and text-only browsers
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus styles on all interactive elements for keyboard users
  • Form Labels: All form fields include associated labels or accessible names
  • Error Identification: Form validation errors are clearly identified and described in text

3. Conformance Status

We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all pages of our website. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continuously review and improve our site to identify and remediate any barriers.

4. Known Limitations & Third-Party Content

While we work to ensure all content on our website is accessible, some third-party components and services may have their own accessibility implementations that fall outside our direct control:

  • Stripe Checkout: Our payment processing is handled by Stripe. Stripe maintains its own accessibility standards for the checkout interface. For Stripe-specific accessibility concerns, please refer to Stripe’s accessibility page.
  • Deliverect / Third-Party Ordering Platforms: Menu and ordering integrations through Deliverect, UberEats, Grubhub, and DoorDash operate their own interfaces with separate accessibility features. We encourage users to contact those platforms directly for accessibility support.
  • Embedded Google Maps: The map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps, which has its own accessibility features and limitations.
  • Chatbot Widget: Our AI-powered chat assistant uses a third-party widget that may have limited accessibility support. We recommend using our contact form, email, or phone as accessible alternatives.

5. Compatible Assistive Technologies

Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Speech recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Operating system accessibility features (high contrast mode, reduced motion)

6. Feedback & Barrier Reporting

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, have difficulty using any feature, or need information in an alternative format, please let us know:
